About
Mountain Meadow Cosmos Calm
The work is about the land, the earth, the cosmos and our place as humans in that. It attempts to explore the elements around us and the feelings they inspire. Themes that reoccur are the cycle of nature and all that that encompasses, the changing and fleeting nature of everything.
It includes landscape based panels and canvases as well as some more abstracted 'calm' paintings which act as a pause or meditation. They are mostly fairly small and are glimpses or snapshots of our constantly altering environment . The cyanotypes on watercolour paper are a contrast in their intense blue, and are all important and symbolic as they are created using earth and grasses, then developed in the sun which feels really appropriate as it is yet another poignant cycle. I use these themes, which have become even more relevant as the reality of the crises that the world is facing have become so extreme, in drawing, painting, print, photography and film.
Sustainability: I’vejoined the Gallery Climate Coalition https://galleryclimatecoalition.org and am working towards Active membership.
